Weekly Dev Log #1
The team goals for the past couple of weeks (regarding the area of expertise) were to try and get some prototypes to work. The way I worked to try and get some work done is prototyping during the weekend and getting some basic stuff to work. I accomplished the goals of what we were going for the week. I got the basic movement for the game and collisions that would work with the character. The process has been smooth so far and we are going to work more on the prototype and add more to the project itself. Some specific goals would be to add a better player system making it much more in depth such as a key and door system. I will go by accomplishing these goals by giving enough time to myself and thoroughly testing how these mechanics can be used throughout the game.
Playtesting Reports
I was playtesting the movement for the game so far and collisions for the game. Some things that I have learned for the game is learning how to add certain mechanics for the player character. The playtesters were the other members of the group which is Chris and Kevin. I observed that more mechanics can be added and that the movement so far needs some fixing. The feedback that i have received was that the walls were glitching out. With the feedback that was given to the groups we will try and make a better movement system and add more mechanics to the game such as a key and door system.
